Originally hailing from London I spent 20+ years between London and Bordeaux selling fine wines to UK merchants and supermarkets. A love of food and wine competed with a love of studio ceramics that had started as a child. On moving to Denmark with my Danish husband I immersed myself in ceramics fulltime, deeply influenced by the understated elegant design around me and the ever-changing coastline where I live.
Working with local stoneware clays, I developed my own glaze palette from scratch to complement and contrast the clay bodies. Lightness and texture are central to my work, with glazes formulated to show subtle variation, often working with raw textured exteriors to highlight natural clay tones. My work is designed for everyday use, to enhance daily rituals while bringing the joy of using handmade soulful items to our every day life.
All glazes are durable and food safe. Everything is dishwasher safe although it is recommended to hand wash the items to ensure their longevity.
As each item is handmade, there may be subtle variation from one piece to the next.
Sustainability is central to my studio practices with careful attention paid to recycling and minimizing waste and energy.
