Altered bowl
An altered bowl, one-of-a-kind.
This bowl was thrown on the wheel, texturised at a later stage and altered at the rim. This is a lovely beige stoneware clay with sandy flecks, on the inside it is glazed in a soft matte off white with subtle iron flecks. Intended for a more decorative use, so ideal for ikebana arrangements or serving food ie chocolates, olives, etc.
This is a durable, dishwasher proof, food-safe glaze which is unique and was formulated by Sarah and rigorously tested. Handmade ceramics will, however, benefit from a longer life if they are hand washed as this is gentler than a dish washer. The raw clay may develop a patina over time if oil comes in contact with it however by wiping the raw clay with a neutral coloured oil such as vegetable oil at an early stage, the clay will develop less patina.
Height 12 cm, diameter 15 cm
