A domed stoneware butter dish thrown on the wheel using a beautiful stoneware clay in a grey / dark beige, the clay is lightly textured with specks of fine sand. Glazed inside and out in a grey gloss with gentle variation of colour showing tones of green and blue.
The butter can sit either on the dish where the grooves are intended to stop it from slipping around, or in the dome itself. The dome part is intentionally thrown slightly thicker in order to retain the cooler temperature from the fridge and prevent the butter from melting too quickly while on the table.
As each piece is unique and handmade there may be subtle differences from one item to the next, especially the grooved dishes. Photographs can be sent of specific dishes on request.
Dishwasher-proof with a food-safe glaze which is unique and was formulated by Sarah and rigorously tested.
