A cream stoneware vase with an altered rim.
This stoneware clay contains flecks of sand, surface texture is created as the piece is turned and finished on the wheel. Natural, organic and fluid these vases work beautifully with all flowers, dry or fresh, showing them to their best with an understated thoughtful elegance provided by the vase. Glazed on the inside in a semi matte white.
This is a highly textured clay that starts out a salmon, sandstone colour; after the two firings it takes on a beautiful flecked creamy buttermilk hue.
Dishwasher proof, however handmade ceramics will benefit from a longer life if they are hand washed as this is gentler than a dish washer. The raw clay may develop a patina over time if oil comes in contact with it however by wiping the raw clay with a neutral coloured oil such as vegetable oil at an early stage, the clay will develop less patina.
